About to leave...

about to arrive...

Cris

So, finally we are in the 'stressful' time before the departure :-)

We moved out from our rooms, now we have no jobs and no place of our own (thanks to our wonderful parents, we can still always drop a longer visit when coming back :-)) , but we surely have a lot of good mood and 2 big backpacks that are truly eager to discover latin america! :-)

Today, Friday, 25th September, I got my last visa. Now I can proundly show off with my passports :-). The Mexican one is valid for 180 days! Quite amazing!

Martin is having his exam at the moment and I am sneaking in the Potsdam University, pretending to be student here, in order to get to this computer room, to check for people to stay over and places to be conquered by us :-)

Married and “with a little help from our friends", as the old Beatles and Joe Cocker said, we managed to bring our dream to reality - backpacking latin america- live the splendor of south American nature, learn the Argentinean tango, practice the ever-good-sounding Brazilian Portuguese, walk the Inca-trails in Peru, and feel the freshness of the Chileans glaciers.

In about 24 hours, we will take off from Madrid, and in the following 12 hours that we would spend on the plane, we would surely enjoy the planning of our route and travel timetable.

Dear all, I just hope the winter will not be too cold, hehehehe :-)!

We will surely miss all of you guys ! ! ! ! !

How to prepare a honeymoon

Martin: To see how it all really started, find my old travelblogs... To prepare a honeymoon, it definitely takes a marriage, at least.
In April 2007 (on April 15th, as a nice present and to make sure I don't forget her birthday ;) ), I proposed marriage to my beloved girlfriend Cris, and she said yes.
Some months later, a couple of friends had informed us that the marriage would have to take place within one year according to traditions - and for us this seemed less and less ridiculous an option.
So in March 2008 we hitchhiked to Denmark, spent a lovely time in spring holidays with my parents and our best man + best lady and got married on the Danish North Sea coast.

To make it fair, we also celebrated in our home cities Dresden

and in Chişinău.

And now here we are, getting visas for Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Mexico and buying items like sleeping bags and stuff - cause our plan is not to have one, but still we don't wanna freeze in Patagonia...
